Andrew Mitchell Pitts

Andrew Mitchell "Mitch" Pitts, 78, died at 11:15 AM on Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Vancrest Health Care Center of Ada, Ohio.

Andrew was born on January 11, 1945, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to the late Tommy Pitts and the late Lucy (Praeter) Pitts.  He married Mary Kathryn Szippl-Sprague on February 14, 1991.

Andrew retired from the Superior Coaches of Lima after 30 years of service manufacturing limousines and school buses.

He is survived by his son, Jason (Nikki) Pitts of Morristown, TN; daughter, Shelly Pitts of Ada, OH; and son, Alan (Connie) Pitts of Columbus, OH; stepson, Shane Sprague; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Vera McCreary of East Liberty, OH.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pitts; son, Billy Pitts; stepdaughter, Stacie Sprague; his brothers, Willie Pitts, Ermine Pitts, and Forest Pitts; and sisters, Pauline Joseph and Barbara Sutherly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio.  Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass.   Father David Ross  will officiate.  Interment will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio.
