Adabelle Walker

Adabelle Oleson-Walker, 93, died at 1:50 a.m. May 31, 2008, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 2, 1915, in Lincoln, Nebrasks, to Arch and Laura Hake Nicholas, who preceded her in death. On June 2, 1939, she married Dale Brady Oleson, who died January 10, 1956. She then married Kim Walker, who died in 1963. Mrs. Oleson-Walker retired as a bookkeeper in charge of central information for the Huntington Bank. She had worked for the U.S. government for 10 years in Omaha, Nebraska, Chicago and Washington, D.C. She was the bookkeeper for the Lima Better Business and Credit Bureau. She was an honorary member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Survivors include a son, William Dale "Bill" (Sarah) Oleson, of Elida, Ohio; two grandchildren, Amanda Oleson and Joshua Oleson; a great-grandchild, Brenden Oleson; and a nephew, Dale (Martha) Suntych. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Blazek, Inez Suntych and Serena Peterson; and her foster brother, Harold Nicholas. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, Neb. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Lutheran Church Board Fund & Building Fund.
