Albert Clarence Becker,
99, of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 1:45 P.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born Thursday, April 24, 1913 in Port Arthur, Texas, he was the son of the late August Becker and the late Bertha (Fleming) Becker.
Mr. Becker married Edna L. Saff on February 23 1946. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1990.
Mr. Becker was a Navy veteran of WWII serving in the Seabeas Construction Battalion in the South Pacific. During his working years he operated cranes for a large construction company and later retired from the Chevrolet Engine Plant in Tonawanda, New York in 1980. He was a Freemason belonging to Tonawanda, NY Kenmore Lodge # 1132. He also had belonged to the American Legion. He loved golfing, fishing, dancing, and bowling. He also enjoyed playing billiards with his friends at Primrose.
Surviving are: two daughters, Carol (Erle) Jackson of Lima, OH and Patricia (Gary) Stephenson of New York; four grandchildren, Karen Jackson, Kathleen (Jason) Henk, Amy (Bob) Perkowski, Mark (Chastity) Stephenson; two great grandchildren, Ellie and Zach; two sisters, Clara Saff and Ruth (Joe) Padlog, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by; one sister; and three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Memorial service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Wanda Werking officiating. Following service there will be a VFW service conducted by Post 1275.
