ALBERT HOWELL, 92, died at 11:25 a.m. December 9, 2004, at Lost Creek Care Center. He was born April 25, 1912, in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Albert and Millie Howell, who preceded him in death. On June 12, 1932, in Michigan, he married Eva Barfell, who died January 13, 2002. Mr. Howell retired from Ford Motor Co., after 17 years, and had worked on the railroad and for Lennox Tool and Machine. He enjoyed model trains and his citizen band radio, where he was known as "Popcorn." Survivors include three daughters, Alice Newland, Jean (Wilbur) Troyer and Blanch L. (Loren) Twining, all of Lima, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Richard Newland, Linda (John) Stewart, Diana (Philip) Tamayo, Michael Troyer, Sheila (Philip) Beebe, Loren (Rachel) Twining Jr., Dale (Dawn) Plaugher Jr., Tammy (James) Dee and Douglas (Francresa) Plaugher; 11 great-grandchildren, Angie Long, Stephanie Tamayo, Amy Tamayo, Katelyn Twining, Nathan Twining, Jessica Plaugher, Dylan Plaugher, Trevor Plaugher, Levi Plaugher, Britney Dee and Michael Dee; and three great-great-grandchildren, Linnaea Long, Jasmine Plaugher and Selena Plaugher. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Plaugher; a son-in-law, Raymond Newland; and a granddaughter, Mary Newland. Services will begin at 4 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Captain Philip Tamayo will officiate. A private family burial will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
