Albert Lee Savage 65, died at 7:06 p.m. October 22, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born August 10, 1944, in Jefferson County, Mississippi, to Lee Calvin and Emma Thompson Savage, who preceded him in death. On July 27, 2009, he married Deborah Michael Savage, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Savage had retired from Millirans Asphalt. He had previously worked for Wells Department Store, Phillips in Ottawa and Star Construction. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He was a loving papa of 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Survivors also include a son, Harvey Savage, of Lima, Ohio; four daughters, Tonya Savage, Lakeisha (Rosco) Townsend, of Lima, Ohio, Angie (Alvin) Conley, Raven Savage, all of Lima, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five sisters, Katie Davis, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Sybel (Abraham) Shorter, of McBride, Mississippi, Mary Ann Savage, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Mildred McBride, of McBride, Mississippi, and Jean Savage, of Lima, Ohio; two brothers, Chester (May) Savage, of Port Gibson, Mississippi, David (Audra) Savage, of McBride, Mississippi; and his mother-in-law, Georgianne C. Haver, of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Albert Savage Jr.; two brothers, Sammie Savage and Melvin Savage; and three sisters, Martha Jones, Rosie Ward and Louise Woods. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Earnest Stephens will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
