Alex M. Lang, 70, of Manama, Bahrain, formerly of Elida, Ohio, died at 1 a.m. June 1, 2010, in Manama, Bahrain. He was born April 8, 1940, in Latvia to Michael and Berta Renz Lang, who preceded him in death. He had been married to Sharon Cook, whom he married on October 27, 1963, and she survives. On August 19, 2002, he married Cindi DeWitt, who survives. Mr. Lang was an Army veteran. He enjoyed all sporting events, including Elida baseball, football and basketball. He was a devout race fan at Eldora and Allentown racetracks. He enjoyed doing mechanical and body work on cars and trucks. In 2001, he moved to Bahrain, where he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling to various places such as Sri Lanka, Germany and Dubai, among others. Survivors include a son, Doug (Jen Flippin) Lang, of Elida, Ohio; two daughters, Beth (Randy) Walters, of Pleasant Hill, and Julie (Brice) Little, of Bluffton, Ohio; a stepson, Billy (Lee) Kranek, of Florida; two stepdaughters, Kathleen (Mike) Kranek and Summer Kranek, both of Florida; eight grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Journey Building at Lima Community Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Vince Nelson will officiate.
