Alice Corwin

Alice Lorraine Corwin, 89, died at 2:10 p.m. August 28, 2010, at Springview Manor Nursing Home. She was born September 24, 1920, in Lima, Ohio to Russell and Kathryn Tucker Sauer Sr., who preceded her in death. On August 27, 1938, she married William W. Corwin Sr., who died July 20, 2005. Mrs. Corwin had been a member Cridersville United Methodist Church, Cridersville, Ohio. She was a 1938 graduate of Lima South High School. She loved to do crafts and go camping. She spent winters in Fort Myers Beach, Fla., for 25 years. She was a member of Phi Gamma Tau Sorority. She was a loving grandmother and will be missed by all of her family. Survivors include a son, William W. (Bev) Corwin Jr., of Lima, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon (Roger) Lowry, of Lima, Ohio, and LuAnn Corwin-Crumrine, of Fort Myers Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Russell (Marge) Sauer Jr., of Wapakoneta, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth E. ?Betty? Schgier. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Dick Connor will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice.
