Allan Hall

Allan A. Hall, 86, of Lima, Ohio (most recently Dublin, Ohio) peacefully passed away March 5th, 2023 at the Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He was born May 30th, 1936, in Lima to the late Vincenta (Trakas/Eley) and Grover Hall Sr. He graduated from Lima South High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1958 in the airmen training unit. In 1959, Allan married Mary Lee Rose and was a dedicated and devoted husband until Mary Lee’s passing on February, 27th, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother; father; wife; and siblings; Shirley (Irvin) DeLong, Rosanna (Paul) Wolfe, Grover Jr. (Pat Covalt) Hall, and Gary (Cindy) Hall. Allan learned the construction business from his father Grover Sr. and was an active builder in the Lima area for almost 30 years. Allan worked for MetoKote Corporation to end his working career and retired in 2000. In his retirement, he served as a valuable member of St. Luke’s Church, Lima Sunrise Sertom, and as a member of the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Over his life, Allan donated much of his free time to local organizations including Lima Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, the Lima Area Concert Band, and Lima Symphony Orchestra- just to name a few. He was a proud veteran, a humble and disciplined man, and a friend to all that knew him. Allan is survived by his sons Randall (Meg) Hall; Bryant (Jenny) Hall; Garrett (Jessica) Hall; and his 9 grandchildren Lauren, Courtney, Jacob, Cooper, Parker, Garett, Kyler, Olivia, and Avery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m.-1:30p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Lima, on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The James Cancer Hospital Strategic Support Fund.
