ALLEN GOOD, 85, died at 9:15 a.m. August 9, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born December 12, 1919, to John and Verna Brenneman Good, who preceded him in death. On September 7, 1968, he married Joanne Shaw, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Good retired as a self-employed truck driver. Following his retirement he worked at Ray's Supermarkets. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was an avid fisherman and loved his family. Survivors also include three daughters, June (Dave) Blauvelt of Lima, Ohio, Jean (George) Glover of Charlotte, S.Carolina, and Deb (Larry) Stewart of Elida, Ohio; two sons, Vernon (Lynn) Good of Lima, Ohio and the Rev. Dennis (Mae) Good of Swannanoa, N.Carolina; a stepdaughter, Melanie (Steve) Cisco of Lima, Ohio; a stepson, Gary Shaffer of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Mildred Good of Lima, Ohio; and 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Elwood Good; and a brother, Kenneth Good. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Good will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
