ALMA TREVA BRINKMAN, 94, died at 10:45 a.m. April 6, 2006, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home in Glandorf. She was born March 3, 1912, in Pandora to William and Catherine Nusbaum Baumgartner, who preceded her in death. On April 25, 1934, in Ohio, she married Norbert W. Brinkman, who died July 6, 1966. Mrs. Brinkman was a wife and homemaker most of her adult life. She worked at the Lima Central Catholic Cafeteria from 1966 to 1977. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for more than 50 years, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Church Women United and Lima Senior Citizens. Survivors include six sons, Donald Brinkman of Arvada, Colo., Eugene (Judy) Brinkman of Canal Winchester, James Brinkman of Dayton, Richard (Miriam) Brinkman of Lima, Robert (Margaret) Brinkman of Cridersville and Charles (Beryle) Brinkman of Camarillo, Calif.; five daughters, Patricia Hughes of Dayton, Julia (Howard) Brickner of Ottawa, Dorothy Hecht of Lima, Anita Meredith of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Mary (Paul) Grothaus of Lewis Center; a brother, Homer (Jeanette) Baumgartner of Delphos; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Reno Baumgartner; and a sister, Alta VanMeter. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Norbert Howe will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery in Lima. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
