Ames E. Brown III

65, formerly of Lima, died at 7:20 AM on Friday, June 15, 2018, at his home in New Tazewell, TN.

Ames was born on October 25, 1952, in Ithaca, New York, to the late Ames E. Brown Jr. and Evelyn Nichols (Simpson) Brown.  On September 9, 1978, he married Carla (Peterson) Brown, she survives in TN.

He is also survived by his stepmother, Helen Brown; children, Ames (Camille) Brown IV, Stefanie (Luke) Clum and Carissa (Matt) Kinzer; four grandchildren, Sydni, Makenzi, Zaiden, and Adilyn; three sisters, Sandra (Victor) Wheeler, Barbara (Mark) Frankfurt and Linda (Rick) Holderby; brother-in-law, Eric (Terri) Peterson; aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He had worked at Marathon PipeLine for 35 years. He was a former member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church and Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts Troop 106. He was an avid hiker, kayaker, and camper. He loved the outdoors. He even hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro at 60 years of age.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM in Lima, OH.   Rev. Brian Bucher will officiate.

Interment of ashes will be in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
