Andrew Lemke,

Andrew A. Lemke Jr., 87, died at 11:30 a.m. October 29, 2010, at Springview Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 20, 1923, in Detroit, MI. to Andrew A. Sr. and Stella Hambaum Lemke, who preceded him in death. On January 19, 1946, he married Mary Gorey, who died March 14, 1998. Mr. Lemke retired from Fruehauf Co. in 1989 after 37 years in the accounting department. He was also a driver for MediLab. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Elida. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, the Eagles and Lima Masonic Lodge 205 Free & Accepted Masons. Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Paul) Briani, of Elida, Ohio, Deborah Higbie, of Lima, Ohio; six grandchildren, Christine Briani, of Dublin, Ohio, Stephanie (Pete) Fitz, of Lewis Center, Ohio, Tami (Tevis) Austin, of Newark, Ohio, Fawne Laurent, of Lima, Ohio, Melinda Young, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Samantha (Jon) Steiner, of Elida, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Laurent; a son-in-law, David Higbie; and a sister, Ruth Cross. Visitation times are Monday, November 1, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Kim Sieberling will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
