Anthony Ray ?Tony? Adkins 35, died at 11:07 p.m. June 19, 2009, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born July 10, 1973, in Lima to Gary Ray and Pamela Sue Fought Adkins. His mother preceded him in death and his father survives. On March 7, 1992, he married Melissa ?Missy? Rex, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Adkins worked at DTR Industries in Bluffton. He was a member of Hope Lodge 214 Free and Accepted Masons. He was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 106. He was a huge sports fan especially for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Columbus Blue Jackets and ?The Ohio State Buckeyes?. He was a devoted son, father, husband, uncle, and friend who loved spending time with his family, boating, fishing, and camping. He gave the gift of life by being a tissue and organ donor. Survivors include two sons, Curtis and Gary Adkins, of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Shelby Adkins, of Lima, Lima; two brothers, Tobias (Elizabeth) Adkins, of Venedocia, Ohio, and Travis Adkins, of Lima, Ohio; father- and mother-in-law, Mike and Colleen Rex, of Lima, Ohio; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Miranda) Rex, of Lima, Ohio, and Eric Rex, of Lima, Ohio; five nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Ministers Paul Jacob Fought and James David Neace will officiate. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts-Great Oak District.
