Anthony J. Recker

Anthony J. Recker, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.  Anthony was born on October 26, 1949 in Lima, Ohio, to Melvin James and Mary Elizabeth (Martin) Recker.

Anthony was a graduate of Gomer High School and U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW and AmVets; and also a member of the American Legion, and Moose Lodge.  He was a self-employed handyman, an avid reader, jokester, expert cookie taster, and loved M&Ms.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Donna Stringfield; children: Susan (Tim) Benjamin, Natasha (Maurice) Jackson and Joseph (Cindy) Recker; grandchildren: Stephanie, Kaleb, Jessica, Justin, Jeremy, Maurice Jr. and Miranda; six great-grandchildren; and siblings: Shelley Pohlman, Jim (Barb) Recker, Connie Miller, Buck Lambert and Carolyn Bicknell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Marissa Kay Jackson; sister, Susie Huffer; brother, Denny Lambert; and twin Annette Hollar.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the funeral home.  Rev. Tim Benjamin will officiate.  Burial will follow at Shawnee Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
