Anthony Dewayne Townsend

December 6, 1977 — April 18, 2025

Lima, Ohio

Anthony Dewayne Townsend, affectionately known to many as “Big Ant”, entered eternal rest on April 18, 2025, at the age of 47. Born on December 6, 1977 in Lima, to Earnest and Tina (Dixon) Townsend of Lima. Anthony lived a life defined by love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and faith.

A proud graduate of the class of 1999 and Certified HVAC Specialist, Anthony was a hardworking and driven man. He co-owned Kreative Kravings, LLC, where his passion for food and community came to life. He also served as a Life Coach, known for speaking life and encouragement to everyone he met.

Anthony gave his heart to Christ in 1986. His love for life was contagious, and his presence was larger than life. He was the family’s lovable giant, whose bear hugs and signature phrases like “I love you”, “Peace”, and “Whoop tee Doo” were cherished by all who knew him.

On June 14, 2023, Anthony married the love of his life, Tamblyn (Carter) Townsend of Lima, his “Boo Chocolate”. Together they shared a love story full of laughter, joy, and cooking side by side. Anthony adored his wife and their blended family of four children: Michael Carter, Jaiquavius Carter, Darvion Young, and Markasia Williams. His love extended to his three grandchildren, whom he adored beyond words.

He is also survived by his devoted parents, Earnest and Tina Townsend; his beloved grandfather, Oscar Dixon Sr.; his two sisters, Alicia Townsend and Angel (Kenishia) Townsend; his special brother, Andre’ “E” White; and his cherished nephew, Zion Townsend. Anthony also shared an unbreakable bond with all of his cousins, whom he considered All of them as his best friends.

Anthony enjoyed spending peaceful moments fishing, cooking with his wife, and most of all, being with his family. He lived life with open arms and an open heart; always making space for laughter, love, and deep connection.

Anthony is now reunited in heaven with his paternal grandparents, and his maternal grandmother, who surely welcomed him with love and open arms.

A celebration of Anthony’s life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Greater Christ Temple Church, 511 E. 2nd St., Lima, OH. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with services to follow at 1:00 p.m. A repass will be held following the funeral services.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the beautiful legacy Anthony leaves behind. A legacy of love, strength, laughter, and faith. He was a light in this world, and his spirit will continue to shine through the lives of those who loved him.
