Arley Taylor,
86, died at 10:55 AM on Thursday, July 5, 2018, at his home in Lima with his wife by his side.
Arley was born on Thursday, March 31, 1932, in Lima, to the late Carl C. and Bertha J. (Green) Taylor. On Saturday, July 20, 1991, he married Shirley Reese (Shaw) Taylor who survives him.
Mr. Taylor served in the United States Army from 1950-1958. He worked as a supervisor at AVI Food Service and Vending. He was a member of Westside United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and was in the men’s P.I.P.S group. He also sang with the Lima Beane Chorus. He was also a member of Elks Lodge #2170 of Celina, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge #54 Lima, Ft. Amanda Masonic Lodge #706 (now Lima Lodge #205), Eastern Star Trinity Chapter #16, Royal Arch Mason, Findlay, Ada, Zenobia Shrine, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite-Valley of Toledo and President of Westgate Neighborhood Association.
He is survived by a step daughter, Deborah Reese of Ruskin, Florida; a step-son, Kris (Amy) Reese of Elida; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Taylor; step-daughter, Carol Levesque; five brothers and six sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio with a Masonic Service to follow at 8 PM.
A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Westside United Methodist Church in Lima, Ohio. Pastor Joshua Andrews will officiate. Interment of ashes will be in Mendon Cemetery, Mendon, Ohio. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #1275.
