Arthur A. Heidenescher,
94, of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at 6:00 P.M. at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Lima, Ohio.
Born March 1, 1918 in Delphos, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Heidenescher and the late Frances (Weiging) Heidenescher.
He married Bernadine Marie Schnipke on February 19, 1941. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2005. He was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church; a Life Member of the Elks BPOE #54; the Catawba Yacht Club and a Past Commodore. He loved to fish, was an avid race fan and one heck of a good dad, a wonderful grandfather and a great grandfather. He retired from Stiener Brothers/Lennox/Warner-Swazey after 40 years, and was the owner and operator of B&W Log Splitters and Bait and Tackle for 26 years. He had a personal philosophy - " There are only two types of people, good people and assholes".
Surviving are: sons, John A. (Cheryl) Heidenescher of Council Bluffs, IA, Robert Joseph (Edie) Heidenescher of Lima, OH and Roger Alan (Kate) Heidenescher of Columbus, OH, a daughter, Joan (Jerry) Stuby of Connersville, IN; eight grandchildren, Lois Heidenescher, Jim Heidenescher, Bobby Heidenescher, Katie Mills, Shelly Wetzel, Cathy Stenzel, Jason Heidenescher, Luke Heidenescher; fifteen great grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Skylar, Amber, Kory, Katelyn, Katarina, Alex, Emma, Isabella, Jake, Kaleb, Kamden, Ava, and Edie; a sister, Rosie Murray of Delphos, OH; and a sister-in-law, Alice Heidenescher of Delphos, OH.
He was predeceased by: a great grandchild, Kaiden Heidenescher; three brothers, Richard Heidenescher, Paul Heidenescher and Clarence Heidenescher; and two sisters, Mary Heidenescher and Rita Klinger.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. A Parish Wake service will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. following the visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gerard Catholic Church on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Mike Houston officiating.
Entombment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum.
