Austin Christopher Bullock 16, died at 11:49 a.m. March 25, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1993, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to Shawn C. and Kimberly Vastano Bullock, who survive in Lima, Ohio.
Austin was a member of South Side Christian Church. He was involved in bowling and track with the Allen County Special Olympics. He played and was an announcer of the Lima Area Abilities Baseball League. He volunteered for Canine Companions and was a member of the MI Ready program at Lima Senior High School. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, The Ohio State University Buckeyes, PS3 and La Charreada Mexican Restaurant. He was on the 4.0 honor roll at Lima Senior High School.
Survivors also include a sister, Kaitlynne Bullock, of Lima, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Bill and Suzanne Vastano, of Lima, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Lynne O'Leary, of Canonsburg, Pa., and John (Joyce) Bullock, of Lima, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother, Frances "GG" Neville, of Lima, Ohio; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins; three special friends, Corey Marchal, C.J. Selhorst and Beth Stander; several other loving friends; and his canine companion, Koca. He was preceded in death by a cousin, Caden Earl.
Services will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at South Side Christian Church. The Rev. Douglas Adams and the Rev. Dottie Kaiser, along with Wanda Werking, will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Allen County Special Olympics, Canine Companions Lima Area Abilities Baseball League or Lima Senior High School of MI.
