Ava Fisher

Ava Kathleen Fisher, 87 of Lima, Ohio died on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.
Born Tuesday, May 27, 1924 in McGuffey, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elmer P. Patterson and the late Linda Stevenson Patterson. She was the wife of the late Dale Fisher.
Ava married Dale Fisher on November 27, 1967 in Gatlinburg, TN. He preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She was the first female Tower Security Guard at Lima State Hospital. She loved reading and watching birds. She enjoyed cooking spending time with valued friends and her family whom she loved very much. She had a great sense of humor and very ornery and fun loving. She was previously married to Roy Rizor.
Surviving is a daughter, Lora L. Fisher, a son, Roy C. (Donna) Rizor, daughters, Linda L. (Robert) Corbin and Jawn K. (James) Hale. Daughters-in-law, Donna Rizor and Margaret "Peg" Rizor. Twelve grandchildren, Susan (Mark) Link, Leslie (David) Gamble, Carmen (Rodney) Helsel, Brian (Ranelle) Rizor, Cathy (Roland) Losechke, Cara (John) Kissee, Ronald L. Martin, Lisa Manns, Anthony (Shelly) Benjamin, Bretton (Amanda) Spring, Matthew (Autumn) Spring , Alissha Hale. Twenty-Seven great grandchildren. A special friend and care giver, Ruth Shull.
She was predeceased by sons, Joseph M. Rizor and David D. Rizor, and three grandchildren, Anthony Rizor, Steven R. Banks, and Joshua M. Fisher.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. David M. Ross officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, West Independence, OH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
