Barbara A Geise

Barbara Ann (McNamara) Geise, age 86, of Elida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at The Springs of Lima.
 

Barbara was born on August 26, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Leroy and Dorothy (VanSky) McNamara. On May 25, 1957, she married James D. Geise, who preceded her in death on September 16, 2021.

She is survived by her brother: William “Bill” McNamara of Lima; sisters-in-law: Barbara McNamara and Carolyn McNamara, both of Lima; brothers-in-law: Thomas Geise of Loveland, Colorado, Roger Geise and Charles (Eileen) Geise, both of Delphos; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son:   Jeffrey J. Geise; brothers: Robert (Carol) McNamara, Jack (Mary) McNamara, and Paul McNamara; brother-in-law: Donald (Margaret) Geise and sisters-in-law: Marianne McNamara and Celeste Geise.

Barb was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and volunteered at St. Gerard Catholic School.  She worked at City Loan Bank for several years.  Barb will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, who loved her family and friends above all else. She was a warmhearted person and her generosity toward others was evident to anyone who had come to know her.  Barb loved any gathering of family and friends and was always the gracious host.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Sergi officiating.  A private entombment of ashes will be held at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Parish.
