Lima, OH

Barbara Ann (Crawford) Hauenstein, 86 of Lima, Ohio, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Barbara was born on November 30, 1935 in Lima, Ohio, to Russell M. and Norma R. (Rothlisberger) Crawford whom are both deceased.

She was the most loving mother to six children which she leaves behind: Susan K. Hauenstein, Robert J. (Kelli) Hauenstein, Jerry A. (Nancy) Hauenstein, David L. (Kim Collins) Hauenstein, Ann M. Hauenstein, and Lori J. Hauenstein.  She also leaves behind beautiful grandchildren:  Chandra (Dustin) Craft, Brenna (Brad) Davis, Briana (James) Allen, Andre Hughes, Cody Williams, Cordell McDonald, Kiara McDonald, Austin Fought, Alexander Fought, Matthew (Shea) Hauenstein, Megan (Alex) Eickholt, Miranda (Eric) Coon, Marrissa Hauenstein, Garrett (Summer) Hauenstein, and Allica (Rusty) Hauenstein; and great-grandchildren:  Aiesha, Keegan, Avery, Lyric, Ethan, Aniya, Madelynn, Leighton, Kolter and Nyle; and nephew William (Karla) Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Crawford; sister, Norma Jean (Crawford) Thomas; and nephews, Russell Thomas and Ronald Thomas.

Barbara attended Longfellow Elementary School and graduated from South High School in 1953.  She was a cheerleader, Student Council member, participated in Girls Choir and Pep Club.  She loved her younger years of life.  She was voted most typical girl her senior year.  She worked at numerous places in her years of life:  Westinghouse, Gatehouse Condominiums, Rudolph Investment Company, and many years at Dixie Roller Rink.

She enjoyed working word search puzzles, coloring, and watching her soap operas (don’t interrupt, lol).  Her smile and spunky spirit were the joy of our lives, her spirit lives in each and every one of us.  Most of all she loved her family, each and every one of them.  Loved hearing and seeing her children and grandchildren’s stories.  She loved collecting snowmen of all kinds, but loved the ones that played music the most.  She lived a wonderful life of 86 years and will forever be missed.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022  and 10 – 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Pastor Dave Burkhart will officiate.
