Barbara L. Sackinger

Barbara L. Sackinger , 82, died at 12:08 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Otterbein-Cridersville in Cridersville, Ohio.

Barbara was born on Sunday, April 12, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Carl Shepard and Dorothy [Holten] Shepard. On December 29, 1947, in Van Wert, Ohio, she married Michael D. Sackinger who passed away February 8, 1997.

Barbara was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God. She also was a member and Past President of Delphos Lioness's Club, Elida Fire Department Rescue Department, She worked at Zimmerman-Dotson, at Pangles Master Market and she also served as a bus driver for the Elida Local Schools for 20 years.

She is survived by: two sons, Daniel ( Liza) Sackinger of Waynesfield, OH, and John ( Wendy) Sackinger of Elida, OH : also three daughters; Darleen (Greg) Gogley of Lexington, SC , Denise (Gene) Harkness of McMillan,MI., Diane (Jesse) Hernandez, of Toledo, OH, and by twenty-three grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a sister, Delores Green of Lima.

She was preceded in death by: a son, Michael David Sackinger and a
daughter Delphine Marie Cook; two sisters, Vivian Shephard and LaDonna Shrader, and two brothers; Robert and Carl Shephard,Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will be on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Jenkins officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
