Barbara Nickells Swickrath

Barbara A. Nickells Swickrath 62, died at 11:03 a.m. February 4, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born July 15, 1947, in Belding, Michigan, to Sammie and Virgie Williams Nickells. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Edgerton. On October 1, 1966, she married Lester C. Swickrath, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Swickrath was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, Cridersville, Ohio. She was a homemaker who loved going to garage sales and western movies. She loved her family and especially loved her great-grandchildren. Survivors also include two sons, Carl Swickrath and Christopher Swickrath, both of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Paula Raines, of Lima, Ohio; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; six brothers, Tom Nichols, of Edgerton, Ohio, Kelly Nickells, of Lima, Ohio, Sam (Dawn) Nickells, of Edon, Ohio, Charles Nickells, of Lima, Ohio, Walt (Theresa) Nickells, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Jan (Misty) Nickells, of Lima, Ohio; two sisters, Diane (William) Pugh and Cindy (Dennis) Kurtz, both of Edgerton, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and aunts. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell Nickells and Danny Nickells. Services will begin at noon Tuesday at Cridersville Independent Baptist Church. Pastor Ed Wireman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
