Beatrice Mears

Lima BEATRICE J. MEARS, 77, died at 3:06 p.m. Feb. 23, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Floyd County, Ky., to Boyd and Clora Dotson Hall, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 29, 1946, she married Donald William Mears, who survives in Lima. Mrs. Mears had worked at First Lima Drug for five years, Lawsons Store for five years and was co-owner of Jerie Jewel's at the Lima Mall. She attended Only Believe Ministries. Survivors also include a daughter, Cheryl (Don) Haney of Lafayette; two sons, Donald William (Dee) Mears and Michael D. Mears, both of Lima; a sister, Irene Hall of Ada; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, June Hall of Ada. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Lynn Mears; three sisters, Zella Patton, Della Gullet and Velva Conley; and four brothers, Kelley, Homer, Hobart and Russell Hall. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Peter Doseck will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
