Beatrice (Bea) I. Lentz Solomon,
age 72 died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 10:09 A.M. at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 27, 1939 in Columbus Grove to Jesse C. Lentz and Helen L (Moore) Lentz who preceded her in death. Due to the loss of her mother early in life, she was raised by her father and grandmothers Hannah Lentz, Frona Moore and stepmother Marciel Lentz. On July 19, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart John W Solomon, who survives in Lima. The couple celebrated their 53rd anniversary in 2011 with the birth of a new great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Solomon was a 1958 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She was a stay at home mother raising four children and always working beside her husband. She also spent many years at Zion Childcare with three year olds - a great time of her life with more children and friends. She was a member of South Side Christian Church in Lima. She cherished her faith, family and grandchildren and especially enjoyed attending their events and activities. She had a very special friend, Carol Redd who was like a sister to her. She loved High School and OSU Sports and she especially loved her cat Mr. Kitter that she raised from birth.
Survivors include three sons; John Wayne (Tammie) Solomon of Ottawa, Jeffery (Lisha) Solomon of Lima, Joseph (Judy) Solomon of Columbus Grove, a daughter Jennifer (Jake) Slight of Houston, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, JohnWayne (Amy) Solomon III, Jackie (Michael) Lawrence, Jessica (Jeremy) Downey, Jeremy Solomon, Joseph Solomon II(Army), Joshua Solomon, Jason Rieman, Justin (Sarah Gerten) Rieman, Brittany Rieman, Stephanie Miller, Garrett Miller and twins Madeline and Jacob Slight; five great grandchildren, Kaden and Gabriella Downey (a new birth is due in May). Landon Stahler and Jentzen Lawrence, Shelby Solomon (born on their 53rd anniversary). A wonderful sister Edith Burkholder of Lima; three sister-in-laws, Carol (Frank) Cartwright of Port Clinton, Jean (Ben) Richardson of Kenton, Linda Reed of Kenton, and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Jay L. Solomon; three sisters, Louise (Ed) Wood, Charlotte (Leonard) Heffner and also a newborn sister who passed at birth; two brothers; Richard (Betty) Lentz, Jesse C. (Phil) Lentz Jr., father/mother- in-law Wayne and Annabelle Solomon, brother-in-law James Burkholder and sister-in-law Janet (Robert) Lemley.

Visitation will be at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, February 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at South Side Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Doug Adams and Pastor Wanda Werking officiating.
Burial will be at Cairo East Side Cemetery.
