BERLIN C. HERDMAN, 95, died at 2:45 a.m. March 4, 2005, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. He was born September 19, 1909, in Peebles to Robert and Charlotte Hux Herdman, who preceded him in death. On February 14, 1946, he married Lucille "Lucy" Brush, who preceded him in death. Mr. Herdman was a security guard for BLH/Clark Equipment, retiring in 1973. He served in World War II in the Army and received a World War II Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a Meritorious Unit Award, a European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon. He served in the Army from March 2, 1942, to November 6, 1945. Survivors include a stepson, William V. (Joyce) Sharpe of Lima, Ohio; a granddaughter, Vicki (Gene) Hughes of Lima, Ohio; a grandson, Todd Sharpe of Lima, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Shawnee Cemetery, Lima. Wanda Werking will officiate.
