63, died at 3:19 a.m. July 1, 2004, at SCCI Hospital, Lima, Ohio. He was born March 15, 1941, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Bernard G. and Claire Marie Harrison Bishop, who preceded him in death. On December 14, 1968, he married Carolyn J. Sutton, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Bishop had been a pyrometer technician at Teledyne Ohio Steel and Superior Forge & Steel. He had also worked at The Lima News. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and Lakewood Village Resort. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and Lake Seneca. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golf, bowling, camping and spending time with family and grandchildren. Survivors also include three daughters, Beverly Ann (David) McDaniel of Lima, Ohio, Kathryn Marie (Paul) Thompson of Manchester and Jennifer Lynn Bishop of Lima, Ohio; a son, Bryan David Bishop of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Joe (Elena) Bishop; three sisters, Peggy (Gale) Bowersock, Phyllis (Bill) Swalgin and Rose (Bob) Watt; and seven grandchildren, Ashley Rose Joseph, Chelsey Marie Bishop, Rebecca Lynn Horn, Toni Katrina Horn, Jonathan Carl Horn, Skye AnnMarie Thompson and Chase JamesWalker Thompson. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home, where a VFW memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. today Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor James Neighbors will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
