Bernard Ludwig

BERNARD EUGENE "BERNIE" LUDWIG 70, died at 10:21 a.m. October 25, 2005, at his residence. He was born August 15, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Dr. William and Alice Uncart Ludwig, who preceded him in death. On April 7, 1969, he married Shirley Ann Page, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Ludwig had been a real estate agent for 33 years for Holmes and then Cowan Realtors. He had served as a deputy for the Allen County Sheriff's Department from 1957 to 1961 and was owner/manager of the Sherwood Inn from 1960 to 1975. He was a member of the Board of Realtors and served as a committeeman for the Republican Party, which he was involved with for several years. Survivors also include three sons, Jason (Sheri) Ludwig of Liam, Bill (Lisa) Ludwig of Lakeland, Florida, and Richard Ludwig of Brooksville, Florida; a daughter, Denise Ludwig of Lakeland, Florida; a brother, Robert (Sally) Ludwig of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Talbot of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Derek Ludwig, Tyler Ludwig, Zoe Ludwig and Taylor Ludwig. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Ken Love will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
