Bernice Boyed

Bernice Boyed,

93, died the afternoon of November 11, 2017, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.

She was born on February 25, 1924, in Greeley County, Nebraska, to George and Clara (Huebner) Fenton, who preceded her in death.  She was one of six children, Eddie, Myrtle and Harold who are all deceased; Darrell (Judy) of Lima and Don (Rosie) of Nebraska. On April 19, 1944, she married William Boyed who preceded her in death in 2002.

Bernice was a member of American Legion #96 and VFW 1275 of Lima. She also was an avid bowler and a Lifetime member of the United State Bowling Congress. She was also a life member of the Lima District 600 Club. She was inducted into the Lima Senior Bowling Hall of Fame by her peers. She was employed by Roedeffer Cleaners until she retired. She also was a member of First Baptist Church on North Cable Road.

To her friends: Know that the people we love remain with us forever and love itself lives on. Memories never fade just because our loved ones are gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as we have their memory they will always be in our heart.

She is survived by: two sons, Don (Polly) Boyed, Columbus Grove, and Ray (Georgia)  Boyed, Murfreesboro, TN; grandsons, Mark, Shawn, Kelly, Steve (Michelle) and Chris (Nikki); great grandchildren, Terra (Josh Unterbrink), Brittany (Cory Zeigler) , Amanda (Cody Roeder), Matthew, Justin, Claire, Kayleigh, Anna, Michael, Kaylyn, Heather; great-great grandchildren, Max, Madilyn, Jaiden and Laylah.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral in Lima, Ohio.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
