Betsy Gardner

BETSY R. GARDNER, 69, died at 6 a.m. November 13, 2005, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 21, 1936, in Richmond, Virginia, to John Melza and Edith Clark Ross, who preceded her in death. On April 28, 1978, she married Carl J. Gardner, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Gardner had been a secretary at Warner-Swasey and Neil Machine, a clerk at BP and had been co-owner of B&C Sporting Arms. She was a member of Market Street Presbyterian Church. Survivors also include a son, Jeffrey Scott Carr of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Leslie (Jon) Arndt of Columbus, Ohio; a stepson, Gregory A. (Diana) Gardner of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a sister, Iris Flynn of Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Ross; and a sister, Violet Williams. Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. John Zuercher will officiate.
