Betty Boothby

BETTY Z. BOOTHBY, 70, died at 2:36 p.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at her residence. She was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Lima to Everett W. and Ida M. Fair Steed, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 29, 1953, in Indiana, she married Gene R. Boothby. He survives in Lima. Mrs. Boothby was the co-owner of the BelAir Carpet Co. She attended Lima Community Church. She loved her family and shopping. Survivors include two sons, Ron (Dawn) Boothby, of Lima, and Michael Boothby, of Indiana; two daughters, Kim (Lynn) Swallow, and Lisa Audia, both of Lima; nine grandchildren, Steven Boothby, Sean Lyle, Amy Boothby, Kristina (Joel) Nascimento, of Lima, Johnny Audia, Joey Audia, Kayla Audia, Jason Swallow and Rachael Swallow; five great-grandchildren, Quinn, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, Kylie and Kegan; a brother, Jim (Shirley) Steed, of Lima; a sister, Mary Steed, of Lima. The family offers special thanks to Elizabeth Chase for all her loving care and friendship. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Steed and Richard Steed; and two sisters, Lillian Wight and Nancy Riley. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
