Betty Burkholder

Betty L. Burkholder, 70, died at 11:10 a.m. Jan. 22, 2009, at her son?s residence. She was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Lima to Lawrence and Dorothy Oatman Nichols, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Burkholder had been a customer service representative at Time Warner and had also worked at The Leader Store. She was a life member of Westminster United Church of Christ. She was a member of Crestwood Neighborhood Association. She loved gardening and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Bryan (Kathy) Burkholder, of Lima, Craig (Joanne) Burkholder, of Jupiter, Fla., and Jeffrey (Andrea) Burkholder, of Lima; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Erica, Nick, Noah, Taylor, Nolan, Clay, Molly, Madison and Luke; and a brother, William Nichols, of Florida. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Risner. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Gale Gebhart will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Home Health.
