Betty B. Coleman 81, died at 11:30 p.m. January 28, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1928, in Marion, Indiana, to Orville and Mary Orsborn Van Ness, who preceded her in death. On March 19, 1966, she married Joseph Henry Coleman, who died April 20, 2002. Mrs. Coleman had been a secretary and accountant for Warner & Swasey Co. until they closed. She retired as a secretary from Delphos Poultry Products. She was an avid bowler. She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471 Auxiliary, Delphos, and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Lima. She loved watching football and NASCAR, and rooted for the Cincinnati Bengals and her favorite driver, Carl Edwards. She loved gardening, growing flowers and her little dog Josie. Survivors include a daughter, Melody (Thomas ?Chick?) Schimmoller, of Delphos, Ohio; a stepdaughter, JoNell (Jim) Van Norman, of Clinton, Washington; six grandchildren, Travis (Cara) Sherrick, Troy (Adrianna) Sherrick, Tina (Steve) Kowalski, Holly Nelson, Becky Wells and Joe Zeitler; and 11 great-grandchildren, Braxton Sherrick, Carter Sherrick, Eli Sherrick, Damien Jones, Kasey Kowalski, Jeffrey Kowalski, Nichole Kowalski, Michelle Kowalski, Kory Nelson, Kari Nelson and Hank Wells. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Schimmoller; and a sister, Mary Hipes. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Howard M. Allison will officiate.
