Betty L. ?Meemaw? Cygan 77, died at 12:55 a.m. September 10, 2007, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born November 17, 1929, in Lima, Ohio to Bud and Goldie Butler Rundio, who preceded her in death. On September 25, 1948, she married Roger E. Cygan, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Cygan had been a secretary and switchboard operator at Teledyne Ohio Steel for 35 years. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was a 1947 graduate of Lafayette-Jackson High School She loved crafts, crocheting, fishing, canning and making Meemaw?s pickles. Spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids was her greatest pleasure. Survivors also include three daughters, Cathie Neu, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and Debe (Les) Ambrister and Kim (Joe) Page, both of Lima, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Don Cygan, of Lima, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Bill) Burger, Jason Neu, Joshua (Sondra) Ambrister, Jeremy (Carol) Ambrister, Ben (Kippi) Page, Brian (Tara) Page and Brent Page; and 12 great-grandchildren, Matthew Burger, Jacob Burger, Justin Neu, Zoe Neu, Logan Ambrister, Laken Ambrister, Bailey Ambrister, Brielle Ambrister, Brynn Ambrister, Morgan Page, Grayson Flores and Kennedy Flores. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Cygan; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Cygan. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Stephen Blum will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Father Herr Scholarship Fund.
