Betty J. Davidson Prosser

Betty J. (Pohlabel) Davidson Prosser, age 93, of Bellefontaine and formerly of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Ayden Healthcare of Belle Springs in Bellefontaine.

Betty was born on November 2, 1929, in Lima, Ohio, to Frank and Mildred (Borton) Pohlabel.  She graduated from Lima Central High School in 1947.  While in high school, she played the clarinet in the marching band.

Betty married her high school sweetheart, Donald Davidson and together they had three children:  Jeffery (Helen) Davidson, Jennifer (Gary) Ernest, and Joseph (Debra) Davidson.  Betty and Don moved many times due to his job at Montgomery Wards.  They lived in Fremont, OH, Dover, OH, Ft. Wayne, IN, Mattoon, IL, Troy, OH, and Portsmouth, OH.  They finally settled in Bellefontaine where she worked at Siemens as a secretary until her retirement in 1993.  Don passed away in 1991.  Betty went on to marry Carl Prosser in 1993.  Betty and Carl taught line dancing in the Bellefontaine and Lima area, and were DJs, “Hooked On Country”.  They DJed in the Logan and Allen County Area.  Carl passed away in 2012.

Betty is survived by her two sons; grandkids:  Carrie Sargent, Matthew Davidson, Erica (Frank LaRue) Davidson, Adam Davidson, Tami Goedde, Greg (Stephanie) Ernest, Mike (Kelly) Ernest, Joanna (Brian Blakenship) Eaton, Tim (Brianna) Cook, Samantha (Clint) Oaks, Heather (Stephan) Gordon, Crystal (Tony) Beatty, Donny (Emali Sroufe) Davidson, and Joey Davidson; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jennifer; two sisters, Freda Kuck and Mary Lou Sterling; brother, Nick Pohlabel; and great-great-twin-granddaughters.

Betty was a lifetime member of The American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the funeral home.  Pastor Rob Starnes will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
