Betty J. Thomas, 85 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, February 28, 2011, at 6:30 P.M. at Richland Manor in Bluffton, Ohio.
Born Thursday, October 29, 1925 in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Dale Allen and the late Koneta Schneider Allen. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Thomas.
Betty married Paul E. Thomas on August 9, 1943, to whom she was married 60 years. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2003. She had been a clerk at Meat City and News Gazette Printing. She was a member of the Westgate Neighborhood Association, and The Sweet Adeline's. She was an avid bowler and an Ohio State fan. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she enjoyed feeding the birds, rabbits and squirrels.
Surviving are son, James (Barbara) Thomas of The Villages, FL, daughters, Nancy (Bob) Butler of Lima, OH, Dawn (Dennis) Taucher of Lima, OH and Cindi Leach of Lima, OH, sister, Marjorie Lohr of Elida, OH. Thirteen grandchildren, and Twenty-Four great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by son, Steven Thomas, daughter, Kathleen Yetman, grandson, Nicholas Yetman, brother, Norman Mueller, sister, June McDonald.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Thurman Grass officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, , , . Memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes Association, 471 E. Broad St. # 1630, Columbus, OH 43215.
