Betty Jean Turner

Betty Jean Turner ,94, passed away at 6:45 AM on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on March 9, 1920, in Van Wert, Ohio, to the late Ezra and Lucille (Bartz) Stemen.

Betty married Fred Thomas Turner on May 25, 1946, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2010.

Betty was a charter member the Lima Baptist Temple and had worked at Westinghouse, retiring in 1985. Her family remembers her as a a loving mother and grandmother.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Diana L. Baden of Lima, OH; two grandchildren: Sherree Sturgeon of Lima, OH and Chris (Stephanie) Oates, Philo, IL; and five great grandchildren, Brookelynne Sturgeon and Alaina Sturgeon, Lima, OH, Sydney Oates, Dylan Oates, and Logan Oates all of Philo, IL. She is also survived by a niece, Beverly Crouse, New Port Richey, FL. a great niece - Mellisa Beach of New Port Richey, FL. and a great great nephew, Nicolas Beach of New Port Richey, FL. and her special friends, Karen & Mel Kohrn of Lima, OH.

She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Fred Crouse.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hohman officiating.

Interment of ashes will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
