Betty Jean Ziegenbusch 76, died at 2:05 a.m. November 24, 2009, at Lost Creek Care Center after an extended illness. She was born March 16, 1933, in Lima, Ohio to Edgar and Ella Johnson Hadsell, who preceded her in death. On October 18, 1952, she married Howard Haviland, who died in 1975. On March 11, 1983, she married Ken Ziegenbusch, who died November 27, 2007. Mrs. Ziegenbusch had worked at Westinghouse for 28 years as a data processor. She retired from A.O. Smith after three years. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, both in Lima. She loved her family, and her generosity to people was overwhelming. Survivors include a son, James Scott (Diana) Haviland, of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Jean Ann (Rick) Long, of Lima, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Karen Matthews, of Lima, Ohio, and Kathy Raines, of Loveland; a brother, John (Maxine) Hadsell, of Arizona; and eight grandchildren, Jeffrey (Bic) Boyle, Angela (Brad) Rex, Christina (Joe) Bender, Elaine Roby, Eric (Missy) Roby, Mark Raines, Elizabeth Raines and Brian Mathews; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Howard; and three brothers, Oliver Hadsell, Harold Hadsell and Paul Hadsell. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Daniel H. Messner will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.
