Billy Dean Jackson,
86, passed away on February10, 2014 at Baton Rouge. He was born on August 22, 1928, in Cavalier, North Dakota, to John and Eva (Rhode) Jackson, who both preceded him in death. Billy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Florence "Flossie" Jackson.
He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 receiving the UN Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and a Bronze Service Star. Billy was retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant a member of UAW Local 1219, retiring after 34 years of service. He was also an active member of VFW Post 1275 (Life Member), American Legion Post 96, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 370 in Lima. Billy and Florence belong to Market St. Presbyterian Church and were active, lifetime members.
In addition to Florence, Billy is survived by 2 sons: Darryl Jackson, and Dwight (Heather) Jackson, both of Lima. 3 daughters: Darlyne (Chuck) Wernery, Orange, Texas, Dianne (Kevin) Berg, of Cavalier, ND, and Debra(Ron) Finfrock of Eaton Ohio. They have 11 grandchildren Keith(Jeniece) Jackson, Jessica (Will Mullins) Jackson, Charlie Wernery, Cody Berg, Mali Berg, Garth Berg, Chandi Finfrock, April Finfrock, Aaron Finfrock, Jared Jackson, and Shelby Jackson. Billy and Florence were also blessed with 15 great- grandchildren: Harlie, Mykolas,Kailee, Courtney, Zachary, Grace, Zachary, Kyla, Braelyn, Sean, Alexis, Shane, Addyson, Bryant, Kenton
Friends may call at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home from 2- 6:30 on February 14, 2014, with a VFW Memorial Service to follow at 6:30pm. Services will be on February 15, 2014, at 10AM, with an hour visitation beginning at 9AM at Market St Presbyterian Church, 1100 W. Market St, with Rev. Dottie Kaiser officiating with private interment at Memorial Park Mausoleum following services. Billy's family has requested that Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, or New York Yankees apparel be worn for the visitation and services. Casual dress is welcome and appreciated.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Billy's name.
