Bobby J. Slone,
72 of Elida, Ohio died on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at home of natural causes..

Born December 25, 1940 in Knox County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Andrew Slone and the late Suzanne (Jacobs) Slone. His wife of 54 years, Dorlis (Lafferty) Slone, survives. She loved him so very much.

He was a long time member of Lima Freewill Baptist Church, Lima, Ohio where he had served as Pastor and recently returned from retirement as assistant Pastor. He dearly loved his church and the people of his church. He was truly a man of God and all who met him knew he walked with his Lord and Savior. He also retired from Trim Trends, Spencerville.

Bobby is also survived by his daughters, Kimberly (David) Young, Gina (Rick) Barnt and his son, Robert (Amy) Slone. He was very proud of all his children and they loved their Dad dearly. He was the very best husband, father and grandfather and he will be missed by so many. He is survived by his grandchildren, Nathan (Jill) Young, Ben (Amber) Young, Ray Barnt, Tony (Natasha Boyer) Miller, Heather Barnt, Ryan Barnt, Andrew Slone and Zachary Slone along with five great grandchildren; Tori, Reagan, Katie Young, and Matthew and Harleigh Miller. His brother, Nevin (Pat) Slone and sisters, Sharon (Oberdin) Collins and Rosetta (Gable) Noble survive.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Slone, Shirley Hicks, Emma Jean Hicks and three brothers, infant Jerry Slone, Glenn Slone and Orvil Slone.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Pastor David Coffey officiating

Interment will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger, OH.
