Bridget A. Fitzgerald, 38, of Chicago, formerly of Lima, died Sept. 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 6, 1971, in Lima to Jack and Jacqueline ?Jackie? Market Fitzgerald. Her father preceded her in death in 1993. Her mother survives. Ms. Fitzgerald received her bachelor?s degree from The Ohio State University, Columbus, her master?s degree from Ohio University, Athens, and her doctorate from State University of New York, Albany, N.Y., in the field of sociology. She had been teaching sociology at Harper Community College, Chicago, and had taught for a short time at SUNY and at Purdue University at Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Ind. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and was never happier than spending time with her two dogs, Bonsai and Diego. She was extremely popular and well-liked by the faculty, staff and students at Harper Community College. Some students took her class more than once because of her entertaining teaching style, which often included stories about growing up with her two brothers. She loved to teach sociology to students so they were presented the wide variety and different aspects of life. She was an extremely loving and caring person who would quietly help anyone in need. She will be sorely missed by those who cared so deeply for her. She enjoyed reading and watching a good movie with her mother and taking care of her. Survivors include two brothers, Jeff (Kim) Fitzgerald, of Alger, and Kevin Fitzgerald, of Lima; two nephews, Blake and Dylan; a great-niece, Patiance Cole; six aunts and uncles, Stanton and Georgia O?Neal, Sharon Dengamal, Jim and Janet Walker and family, all of Lima, Jack Koehler and family, of Cleveland, Ken and Kathy Kern, of Florida, and Ed and Pam Bush, of Lima; six special cousins, Justin O?Neal, Brittany O?Neal, Tracy Harris, Bree O?Neal, Tyler McComb and Trey Harris.
