"Bud" Alfred Charles Northup Jr.,

76, died at 9:50 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.

Bud was born on Thursday, March 19, 1942, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Alfred Sr. and Eleanor (Copeland) Northup.  On Monday, December 12, 1966, he married Anna Rousculp, she survives in Lima.

Bud loved gardening and drag racing. He was known as “super spectator" at Wayne Trail Dragway. He was one of Ohio State's biggest fans and he was most proud that his three sons graduated from The Ohio State University. Spoiling his grandchildren and going to Disney World was something he loved to do. He would visit with his friends at McDonald’s for coffee for his enjoyment. He was a huge fan of John Force and collected his cars as a hobby. He retired from Air Gas, previously LaRouche Industries in Delphos.

He is survived by sons, William (Tania) Northup, Thomas (Ann) Northup and Douglas (James Null) Northup; grandchildren, Connor, Alexis and Ally Northup; sisters, Pat (Roger) Glass and Sally Hulcher and mother, Koneta Northup.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Beckett and a brother, Kerry Northup; brothers-in-law, Jim Hulcher Sr. and Chuck Beckett.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio on Cable Road.

A funeral service will begin at 12 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.  Rev. Shane Crites will officiate. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
