Byron William "Bill" Howell
69, passed away at 11:59 a.m. on September 13, 2015 at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center, Davenport, Florida.
Bill was born May 23, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to the late Virgil Howell and Violet (Selover) Snyder.
He served eight years in the Marine Corp. Of which he served 18 months in Viet Nam & received the Good Conduct Medal.
He retired from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 776 in 2009 as a HVAC Journeyman at Lippincott Heating and Air Conditioning. He was an instructor with the apprentice program at the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union Hall for several years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #370 in Lima, Ohio.
He was raised in Erieau, Canada where his father had a fishing camp. He loved fishing and enjoyed watching auto racing at Limaland. He was famous for playing tricks and telling stories.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sneary Howell. He is also survived by 2 sons, Steven Blake Howell & Michael Anderson Howell; a daughter, Jolene (Jason) Smith, 2 Step daughters, Julie Scott (Tony Gilroy) & Janis (Ted) Ralston. 18 Grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Barbara Friendorf, and multiple nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Angel Ladonna Gaye Howell, mother & father, a sister, Betty Gross, a brother, Bud Howell, a brother-in-law, Stan Friendorf, a special niece, Linda Hickey and a son-in-law, Steven Scott.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Burial of ashes will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio
