CALVIN C. GREEN, 90, died at 11 a.m. January 3, 2006, at Lake Park-Comfort Care Unit, Sylvania. He was born July 25, 1915, in Bellore to Grover and Reatha Ferguson Green, who preceded him in death. On August 11, 1939, he married Marian V. Boop, who died February 21, 2000. Mr. Green retired from Ohio Steel Foundry, after 40 years. He and his wife had owned The Little Store on North Main Street. He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ. He was a member of Fort Amanda Lodge 706 Free & Accepted Masons. He was an avid bowler for several years, bowling in as many as three leagues per week. After the death of his wife, he lived the last six years in Sylvania with his daughter, where he enjoyed his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and bowling with his daughter in two leagues. Survivors include a daughter, Dolores (Richard) Jones of Sylvania, Ohio; two brothers, Francis (Elnore) Green and Raymond Green, both of Lima, Ohio; three grandchildren, Christine (Michael) Rupp, Angela (Mark) McKarus and Chad Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas McKarus, Leah McKarus, Gabrielle McKarus and Kathryn Rupp. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
