61, died on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Valley Hospital-Las Vegas, Nevada.
Carey was born on March 06, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, to Koewler C. Brafford and Irene J. [Muzleski] Brafford.
His wife of 25 years Patricia Brafford preceded him in death in 2008. Carey was a security guard for the Circus Circus Casino and the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas. He also drove a taxi cab in Las Vegas prior to his retirement. He graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School and worked at Lima Register Company before moving to Las Vegas in 1980. Carey enjoyed motorcycles, loved his family pets and the climate of Nevada. Carey was a huge baseball fan and rooted for the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.
He is survived by his sister, Kathleen (James) Johnsman, of Spencerville, OH, and a special niece, Jennifer Hole also of Spencerville, OH.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gerards Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio at a later date.
Carey and Patricia's remains will be interred at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima Ohio also at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society, Las Vegas, NV. or to the Allen County Humane Society, Lima, Ohio in their memory.
