Carl Edward "Ed" Kayser
82, died at 6:01 PM on Thursday, March 06, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio surrounded by his loving family.
Carl was born on September 24, 1931, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Bernard J. Kayser and Clara (Beck) Kayser.
On June 20, 1952 at St. Gerard's Catholic Church, he married Suzanne E. Smith. She survives in Lima. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the Boy Scouts; and an Honorary Eagle Scout. He retired from AEP-Ohio after 40 years of service as a major accounts Meter Technician. He was a member of St. Gerards Catholic Church and their Holy Name Society; FOE Eagles #370, BPOE Lodge #54, Knights of Columbus Loyalty Council 2661. He was a true gentleman; he loved his family, country and God. He was very proud of the time he spent in the Navy. He was his happiest, when with his family and camping.
He is survived by: four daughters, Christine (Dan) McNamara, of Elida, OH, Becky (Randy) Moorman, of Lima, OH, Lisa (Tom) Sciranka, of Lima, OH, Leslie (Deno) Kalamos, of Thornton, CO; a son, David (Karen Kiggins) Kayser, of Elida, OH, nine grandchildren, Heather (Elmer) Noble, of Pensacola, FL, Brian (Ashley) McNamara, of Naples, FL, Andrew McNamara, of Columbus, OH, Carl Moorman, of Toledo, OH, Zachary Sciranka, of New York, NY, Kayla Sciranka, of Lima, OH, Jakob Harvey, of Thornton, CO, Austin Kayser, of Lima, OH, Dalton Kayser, of Lima, OH; three great grandchildren, Makenzy Noble, Alanah Noble, Aaliyah Harvey; three bonus grandchildren, Kayla Nolan, of Eldia, OH, Brittany Nolan, and Lauren Nolan, Elida, OH; three sisters, Elizabeth (James) Prince, Eleanor (Neville) Smith, Judy (James) Moyer
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home with a wake service at 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 09, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2014 at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, OH.
Father Mike Houston and will officiate.
Interment of the cremated remains will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
