Carl I. Prosser, 89, of Bellefontaine, OH, passed away on May 18, 2012 at 11:02 A.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born May 7, 1923, in St. Johns, Michigan, and raised by Fern & Louis Prosser both (deceased).
He married Genevieve Mary Ashenfelter on June 13, 1942, who went to be with our Lord on December 31, 1991.
Their children included: Michael David (Judy) Prosser of Tiffin, OH; twin girls, Beverly Jean (Roger) Baker & Linda Darlene Yeakey of Michigan City, IN; Darrell Vaughn Prosser (deceased); and Terry Lee (Lois) Prosser of Quincy OH. From this marriage he had 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
On May 22, 1993 he married Betty J. Davidson, of Bellefontaine OH,
giving him stepchildren of Jeffrey Alan (Helen) Davidson of Dublin OH; Jennifer Lynne (Gary) Ernest of Lima OH; Joseph Lee (Debra) Davidson of Russells Point OH; 14 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great grandchildren.
He retired from the City of Bellefontaine in 1985 after 20yrs of service, during which he enjoyed many positions, such as: Police Dispatcher, Auxiliary Police, Parking Meter Attendant, Animal Control Officer, Humane Society Officer, and Water Department Attendant. He also enjoyed his auctioneering.
Carl loved: his children and all his extended family, working on automobiles, semi driving, bowling, yard work, fishing, playing cards and dining at Bob Evans Restaurants everywhere. He especially enjoyed country-western line dancing, disc jockeying, & watching the gold finches and hummingbirds every season.
Carl was a member of the Sons of The American Legion Post #96, Lima OH; Fraternal order of Eagles #2166 Bellefontaine OH, Fraternal Order of Eagles #691 Wapakoneta OH; Sons of AMVETS Post #39, Lakeview OH; Men's Auxiliary to the Veteran's of Foreign Wars #6772 Spencerville OH; Moose Post #199, Lima OH; and a Life member of the Fraternal Order of Oriole #173 Lima O
Visitation will be on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, with Pastor Rob White officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio
