CAROLINE A. BRIEGEL, 89, died at 3:48 p.m. November 6, 2004, Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born November 24, 1914, to Fridolin and Selma Baltzer Tschudy, who preceded her in death. On July 10, 1940, she married Virgil J. Briegel, who died January 1985. Mrs. Briegel was a public school music teacher in Marsaille, Harpster and Prospect, Ohio. She was choir director for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, through the 1950s and was choir director and organist at New Creation Evangelical Lutheran Church (formerly Peace Lutheran). She was a member of the Sorosis Club and WELCA. She was a 1937 graduate of the Capital University Conservatory of Music. She will be missed by her many dear friends at church, the Otterbein Home, where she resided, and at Lakeside, where she summered in the cottage that she and her husband loved so much. Survivors include a son, Roy (Shirley) Briegel of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Tschudy and Lyn Tschudy. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Creation Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Samuel Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Windfall Cemetery, Chatfield.
