Caroyln Rose Groves

Carolyn Rose Groves, 82, passed away at 11:17 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Lima Convalescent Home.

Carolyn was born on September 28, 1939, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Karl and Vera (Sanders) Lawson.  On October 1, 1960 she married Max Elwood Groves who preceded her in death on November 21, 2005.

Carolyn had worked at the Blue Note Café back in the day.  She also assisted as a caretaker for handicapped individuals.  Carolyn was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and sang in their choir.  She was a member of the 39ers PenPal Club, Eagles Lodge, Red Hats Society, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery A. Groves of Arlington, VA; daughter, Alicia Marie Groves of Elida, Ohio; brother, William (Pamela) Lawson; and sister, Judy (Bruce) Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.   The Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.  Father Thomas Varghese will officiate.  Burial will be at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
