Carrie M. Davis, 82, died at 1:47 p.m. January 18, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born November 8, 1926, in Johnson County, Kentucky, to Walter A. and Marie Lyon Ross Sr., who preceded her in death. On March 12, 1943, in Paintsville, Kentucky, she married Willard Davis, who survives in Lima, Ohio. They had been married for more than 65 years. Mrs. Davis retired as the cafeteria cashier from Lima City Schools, after 25 years. She was a member of Crossroads First Church of God. Following her retirement, she was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System for 20 years. She had been a member of the COA Senior Citizens Bridge Club. Survivors also include a son, Ernie (Nancy) Davis, of Elida, Ohio; a daughter, Jackie (Anthony) Tozzi, of Canton; two grandchildren, Jeff (Dawn) Davis, of Spencerville, and Jennifer (Mark) Shope, of Morristown, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren , Kaylee, Collin and Emma; a brother, Garland Ross, of Columbus, Ohio; and four sisters-in-law, Malta Ross, of Flat Gap, Kentucky, Maye Ross, of Westerville, Ila Kehrwecker, of Lima, Ohio, and Madlyn Hathaway, of Tipp City, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Lyon; and five brothers, James M. Ross, Walter A. Ross Jr., Charles H.Ross, Edgel Ross and Earl Ross. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor John Heyward will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
